Wild Seasons Kent

Lavender, Connection & Creative Calm Workshop

24th October 2-4pm

Ospringe Church, Faversham, Kent.

We're Mandy Rickard and Vanessa Claridge — friends for over 34 years who understand that life moves too fast, leaving people feeling disconnected and overwhelmed.

Together, we founded Wild Seasons Kent: seasonal workshops where busy souls can step away from life's demands and rediscover calm through botanical wisdom and gentle creativity.

Mandy is a qualified Medical Herbalist and Aromatherapist, bringing healing plant knowledge and compassionate expertise to every session. Vanessa is a Creative Facilitator with over 20 years of experience bringing people together through nature-inspired art and sustainable crafts.

By combining Mandy's herbal wisdom with Vanessa's artistic facilitation, each workshop creates a peaceful sanctuary where you can truly restore yourself.

We invite you to join us to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect - with nature, with creativity, and with kindred spirits who understand the need for peace.

Explore Nature, and Create Magical Botanical Potions!

Join us for a joyful, hands-on workshop designed to spark curiosity and creativity.

This session is all about discovering the wonders of the natural world through playful exploration and creative making.

We’ll begin with a sensory walk outdoors, where children will explore textures and patterns through bark and leaf rubbing—a fun technique to make prints from leaves and natural surfaces. This activity encourages explorers to slow down, notice details, and capture the magic of nature in their own artworks.

Back inside the cosy space of Ospringe Church, creativity blooms with the making of magical lavender lemonade—a delightful, colour-changing drink. Then, children will create fragrant lavender bags using hapa zome, a botanical dyeing technique that presses and transfers natural colours and shapes onto fabric—making each bag uniquely beautiful. Children will also create a clay talisman imprinted with lavender stems—a special keepsake to paint and take home. There will be an option to purchase lavender essential oil for £5 to scent their talisman. This workshop is designed to nurture curiosity, inspire imagination, and build a meaningful connection with nature in a warm and welcoming environment. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to engage their senses, learn new skills, and enjoy creative play alongside friends.
